See there again, you keep posting pics of Coleman with a lot of light on him and pics of Yates with significantly less light. I just want to say light or no light, both guys are amazing and are 2 of the best bodybuilders of all time. It's good that we have this thread to debate. All of us can learn from each other.

1999 british grand prix had the best lighting to all-time, unforntualy I cannot find the pictures from that show.

dorian's back looked best in 95.

although 93 is the show that most people look at, i think his back looked best in 95.

notice the loose skin on the lower back of yates in this pose..whereas ronnie shows some of his lower back striations..

secondly, although this is a great comparison, Ronnie's waist appears LARGER than dorians, which in real life would not happen.

thus a huge advantage in real life that ronnie would have is gone.

When a bodybuilding judge looks at a competitor's back , there are three things he is especially interested in in : ( 1 ) The thickness and muscularity of the upper back:( 2 ) the sweep and width of the lats and ( 3 ) the definition and development of the lower back and lower lats.

Dorian's upper back -  traps are thicker & denser than Ronnie's especially his lower traps
Dorian's lats and Ronnies are about equal in terms of sweep and width again at their respective bests is probably equal , you can argue over centimeters all you want but neither in my opinion are noticeably wider than the other
Dorian lower back is simply in another league compared to Ronnie like the traps this is what separates Dorian's back from Ronnies , Dorian has better lower lats period , they insert lower into this back and they're  much more developed and defined , his erector spinae are much sharper and developed than Ronnie

this is exactly why Dorian has a better back , Ronnie is comparable but Dorian is the better of the two.



p.s and both are comparable in terms of development & detail of the infraspinatus and teres.

sometimes, I use 95 too since this is often claimed to be dorian's best condition.

I generally only post 94 pics when you claim dorian did not have a gut

and the nasser dorian shot I just posted was only used because it was taken onstage at prejudging just as the ronnie shot I used was.
