Join the line! Too bad that, to do that, you'll have to flip back to Ronnie's corner. Oh, wait, I fogot that's exactly what you're here for. ;D ;) Oh, and by the way, it is you who started the shit by calling me names despite the fact that I didn't say shit to you. >:(

SUCKMYMUSCLE

To prove you wrong would not mean that I jump to Ronnie's side. I still believe Dorian is superior, despite your contentions, some of which are incorrect.

As far as calling you names, that's your own problem, deal with it. You have been known more than several times in this thread to drop vulgar comments at other members ;) Would you care for me to go back and retrieve all those as well?

no, ronnie was NOT in the first call out.

it was the first time in 15 years that a competitor who was not called out first in the first round went on to win.  At least according to the magazines at the time

brutal overlooking initially.

i think that had more to do with ronnie's presentation.

i remember reading something about how he hadnt done a good job with his oil and that had something to do about it.

also, ronnie had a lot of momentum going in.

he beat kevin at the russian grand prix, won the toronto, and NOC that year before th Olympia.

he had more momentum than anyone other than flex.

ronnie and dorian and most would agree that if paul ever got his shit together - his back and learned how to pose - he would be extremely difficult to beat.

HERE IS A QUOTE FROM PAUL DILLET ABOUT DORIAN from FLEX magazine

"The condition of Dorian Yates at the 1995 Mr. Olympia was the most incredible thing I've ever witnessed on any stage.  He was out of this world.  I dont see any way he can duplicate that condition again.  He can come in bigger, but I dont see how he can come in better.  I doubt that even Dorian knew how that happened.  Never in my life had I see anything like that.  I was on my knees going, yes, master, I've seen the light.  I was just happy I was nowhere near him on that stage.

another quote for hulkster, pumpster, etc. to ignore.

At some point they are going to have to take note of all these quotes....that is damn impressive coming out of Dillet's mouth, and Dillet isn't exactly the one to give praise or give way to others (see BFTO 98).

exactly.

you have flex, paul, magazine writers, etc. and ronnie himself saying things about dorian - in regards to his dominance.

i mean its not like TA or Derick Anthony said these things.

These quotes have been posted for almost 700 pages. Bottom line is they don't prove a thing. For every quote you dig up saying how good Dorian was, you can dig one up saying how good ROnnie was, and how bad the two were.

Quotes don't prove anything. If everyone agreed that the sky was red and quoted each other saying it, would it make it so?

It may not "prove" anything per se, but it sure as hell holds a lot more credibility than someone who has never seen a show and sits behind his computer screen telling us Dorian was overrated ::)

Delta, speak on 1995 already >:(
sorry bro been busy. well here goes........

from the fucking moment they walked on stage it was......OVER. boat fucking horns were going off for yates. he dominated this show probably more than the 93. this was his show . he was just as big but even better condition. shawn pissed him off with the "i think he has a few more years to guest pose" comment. shawn what were you thinking. its like a pissed off ronnie, you dont want nan  o dat!  again, from the moment they walked onstage the show was for second place (kev).
you can criticise yates half bicep, but its cool as franco had 2 half biceps and took an o or 2.
yates really was in the condition of his life. btw i was at the show if you didnt get that yet(and the 91).
i didnt agree with shawn 4th place either, he should/ could have been 3rd. nasser just sucked from the back.
the crowd didnt go for kevins pulling the flag from his posing trunks action while posing to the start spangled banner.
betty weider must think im crazy as during the pose down i moved down to the empty seat next to her so i could take some pics with my crappy camera and was yelling for yates.
the salute to weider with all mr o's was kinda cool. i really dont know what else to tell cuz ill be repeating myself again.
the breakfast on sunday was cool, got meet the competitors. yates was mobbed as soon as he got in.
nasser was giving away signed pics to the kids.
shawn was pissed.

natalia was in the lobby for a long time taking pics with everyone.

kev was mobbed too when he came in to the breakfast. he was cool.

yates was nice but a quiet guy. he also had the most people in line for pics and autographs.
leroy davis his crazy training partner was there counting the money.

some guy even gave yates a watch and wanted him to come see his dying son or something.

That's awesome delta...that sounds like an experience of a lifetime! Unfortunately now, the Olympias dont have the same mystique about them :-\

One thing I want to ask is concerning Yates' size. On the video I just couldn't believe how big Yates' legs looked. Also, during the posedown on video it looked like he made everyone look like children despite weighing considerably less than some of his compeitors. So basically, did Dorian make everyone look like children?

As well Delta, given that version of Yates you saw in person in 1995, do you think any version of Ronnie could beat that?

nasser took up more space but was nowhere near as hard so a 256 pound yates looked just as big as a soft 270 nasser. you gotta remember, yates had "it" so yes he made them all look like kids. yates calves were the size of shawns quads.

i dont know how yates got even more dry for the 96 cuz at the 95 he was carved from granite and polished.

from the second the walked onstage and hit the "relaxed" pose it was a comp for second place. no one has said differantly. no one. yes shawn should have been 3rd and maybe maybe he could have got 2nd but kev was just too big for him to handle.

Delta, what did you think about Yates posing routine?

Personally, my favorite routine of his was 93 - O Fortuna.

On the video I can't really make out the music on his routine very well, but the guy said something funny because the crowd let out a big laugh. Do you remember what it was?

Which versions of Ronnie have you seen as an audience member?

Man that must have been crazy. Was Leroy Davis quiet or loud like in blood and guts? ;D

Leroy was amazing!

The funniest part is when Leroy himself does "powaaa pressing" and is yelling out at himself. Yates' wasn't nearly as "encouraging" as Leroy was on a set :)

according to ND's warped retarded account of the contest, Ronnie did not dominate Jay from the back.... ::)

yeah, except for those little twigs hanging off his monster back.

seriously ND, next time pick a pic in which dorian's calves don't appear larger than his out of balance arms... ::)
