Bad picture to prove your point its an all black background and its hiding some of Zane's detail , and you have to put Zane into context the 1970s NOT by todays standards , Zane did have a very small waist and hips and he had a relatively wide back , he has fantastic proportions , no quadsweep to speak of . but he litteraly like a staute by Michelangelo and someone once said about Ronnie that he would be a creation of Michelangelo if he dropped acid lol and exaggeration of a classic .

To you this shot isn't impressive , to me this shot could never be equaled by Ronnie.

Ironagers need to admit that a "flaw" in bodybuilders today is that they are simply too big.  Why not just admit that?  Instead they pick other flaws and critique them and say that a bodybuilder today has poor symmetry or something like that.  Why try to rationalize this?  Just admit - pros today simply pack too much muscle on their frames.  It's like girls who like good looking guys and then try to rationalize it by saying "he's confident."  Why do that?

Even if Lee Haney could keep his shape and be 300 pounds, the mere fact that he weighs so much and is so massive would make him look worse.  At a smaller body weight you have the "I want to look like that" factor coming into play.  This gets traded for entertainment only that comes with watching 300 pound bodybuilders pose.  If Frank Zane weighed 250 and kept the same lines, I would probably not want to look like him, but at 185-205, he looks attainable and not "too much" - ironagers should admit that too much muscle can put one off when viewing physiques.

Yeah, Ronnie's quads look like Flex's just with more sweep. So saying that Flex's have better shape is just saying they are more aesthetic because they are smaller. Which of course means becauase they have less muscle.

my argument has always been that the only reason that Ronnie did not make that list was solely because of what he turned into later on in his career.

Had he done a Shawn Ray and stayed pretty much the same, he would have made the top 20 for sure.

after all, look at all these pics, he is just as shapely and aesthetic as Zane and Sergio, but only when he was around 245-257 or so.

Its NOT a matter of size , some bodybuilders can carry lots of size and still be aesthetic , I've said this before aesthetics range from the 180 pound Frank Zane all the way up to a 260 pound Chris Cormier

Its a matter of how the size is distributed over the frame , if the size compromises the balance & proportion , is the size is redundant , its also a matter if the size is quality

A lot of bodybuilders today are just to big in terms of size which hurts their muscularity and detail , a perfect example of that is Ronnie , his muscle separations have suffered , his delts used to have striations and clear separations between all the heads now they just look blurred and smooth

And not all of todays bodybuilders are to big , plenty of guys are just right , Melvin Anthony , Dexter Jackson , Ronnie Rockell , Phil Heath , Darrem Charles , they're not all to big .
