I really don't care what you nuthuggers think because 1. I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in being a competitive bodybuilder 2. I work in IT and lift weights up to 4 times a week in my spare time strictly as a hobby 3. I have no interest in using steroids to improve my body, I just want to be healthy 4. I have never claimed to be a serious bodybuilder.

I do however get a lot of compliments from people in real life and I often get asked if I workout. I also have a beautiful girlfriend with curves in all the right places which is something you will never have.

According to the mags he weighed 291lbs with just 6% body fat at the Christchurch seminar, another first for the sport of bodybuilding. Of course my impression was that he was the best bodybuilder on the planet at the time. He'd just won his first Olympia so everyone thought the same and the pics don't lie. I do have a lot more pics from different seminars and shows that I will post later. For years I was reluctant to share my father's photography of Yates' seminars with the world but now I don't care. It's all part of history and should be shared with bodybuilding fans.

I think this one is my favorite. This picture of Yates does truly give meaning to the saying a "mountain of muscle". From top to bottom Yates looks absolutely massive, with not a single lacking area.
