I was reading Muscle Time online magazine and came across this little article with pics of Flex. They mentioned specifically where the judges went for size over anything else. They mentioned specifically the Olympias 94, 96 and 97

When you watch the Olympia tapes 92 through 96 you realize how much better he was than everyone else.

I'm one of the few people on this thread who has seen both Dorian Yates and Flex Wheeler in person and all I can say is Wheeler never stood a chance against Yates. He had a good shape but looked smooth throughout most of his pro career. How could a guy who lacked consitency have stood a chance against someone like Yates?

Ronnie was penalized for his tricep and back injury. Just look at last years Olympia. Jay won and Ronnie didn't. The fact is, yates injury was too serious and it made him look like he "didn't" deserve perfect scores, but yet they still gave him straight firsts and made him win. That's the difference.


The reason why we single out yates, is because if he is up against a "prime" Ronnie, there is no way in hell he will beat a injury "free" Coleman looking like this:

ronnie lost bc he was out of shape - yates was still the most conditioned guy in the show.

and if you read any of the olympia reports from those years, every writer said that when all angles and criteria were considered yates was the clear winner.

but that is still not as bad as a severely torn bicep that yates had. yates should of been penalized straight from the get go of any contest from 94 onward for the torn bicep. Hell, even in 95 his bicep looked like garbage. His bicep is so small and short it's curled up so close to his shoulder, it actually looks like it's part of his shoulder. Take a look:

  Thank you. This is exactly what I tried to convey to Hulkster, Pumpy and SemenHole, but they argued that I was using a "photoelectric effect" to justify this, when in reality all I said is that all the colors and nuances that are captured by the Human eye are not captured by photography.

then explain the smallest guy in the show - shawn ray- getting 2nd twice and beating guys that were 80's pounds heavier?

also, yates was still the best conditioned guy in the show, so how is that going "mostly for size"?
