I'm mixed-race Hispanic but I was born in Louisiana so I have a greater connection to Creole Blacks than I have with Caribbean Hispanics.  My siblings, 3 sisters, have attended HBCUs (Xavier and Dillard).  Two siblings are married to FBAs they met at HBCUs and my niece and nephew would be half FBA.  That said, it doesn't mean I don't have an allegiance to my mother's side of the family but I know my place.

No set-asides, no welfare, no food stamps, no hand-me, downs, no mayonnaise women benefits, all manmade accomplishments.
