This is the hypocrisy of the left. They began the hysteria around "misinformation" during covid and the 2020 election. First arguing that anything that was said about covid and not in lock-step with mandates, lockdowns and vaccines was misinformation.
This was after they had been using misinformation for years to paint trump as a diabolical mad man. Ironically they accused him of spreading misinformation about covid while at the same time using misinformation to create the narrative around the Jan 6th incursion, which was nothing more than a series of still shots, tweets, only a handful of actual assaults and a walk through of the capital building, presented by the media and the left as an organized coup attempt by Trump. And ultimately used to censor him from social media.
Now, at the same time George Gloyd rioters were burning dpwn buildings the collective left (politicians, media, lawyers, journalists, judges) framed it as free speech, and constitutionally protected activity.
I don't know much about European current events. But the articles I read out of the UK, France (and actually Canada and Australia as well for that matter) are the stuff of nightmares. Its an overused cliche but it's mirroring 1984. Truly Orwellian.
It's commonplace now. The masses have accepted it.. The larger social media apps have "fact cjeckers" who are frequently wrong. The us government now has a department of misinformation (i can't recall the exact name but the idea is it will identify what they consider to be misinformation and, I assume, censor it)
