I don't think independents feel that way.  They see all the failures of the current admin and associate Harris with that.  I don't think her performance will change anyone's mind who was voting Trump.  If they vote Harris, it wasn't because of this.
We will soon see.  It's going to be crazy.

Not even close.  Trump fidelity, or lack thereof, is widely known.

This laptop thing is so bizarre it almost doesn't seem real.

If the population knew the candidate's crackhead son actually did leave a laptop that provided evidence that contradicted so much of what said candidate was saying, it would have sunk him.

It might be widely known, but Christians would take offense to it.  Unless of course, they were hypocritical and fake Christians,  much like Trumpy himself.

But Hunter wasn't running for POTUS.  And the candidate for GOP which likes to portray themselves as the party of Family Values and Faith, was anything but.

Stuck in a hotel.  Wanted to go see a movie to avoid what I predicted would be a train wreck.  Didn't like anything playing.  Stuck watching the train wreck instead.

My thoughts:

- The first question was the best question of the night:  are you better off today than four years ago.  Didn't get answered.

- Trump telling Harris that her policy positions on her website were simplistic and they are like "run spot run" made me laugh.

- Trump telling Harris he would send Harris a MAGA hat was mildly funny.

- Trump let Harris bait him on a number of irrelevant, dumb issues.  He did a poor job of staying on message.

- Harris just repeated memorized lines.  I was not impressed.

- Her abortion comments were just plain dumb.  After saying we need Roe v. Wade back, she said that in every state where abortion has come up for a vote in red and blue states the people have voted for freedom.  In other words, we don't need Roe v. Wade and Trump was right.  But she is not smart enough to understand it.

- Trump's line:  "I'm talking now.  Does that sound familiar" was a drop the mic laugh out loud moment.

- The moderators were ridiculously biased.  Repeatedly tried to fact check Trump and help Harris.  Did not fact check Harris once.  Including Harris lying about "very fine people," police officers dying on January 6, "blood bath," etc.

- Trump saying Harris should wake Biden up and get him out of bed at 4 p.m. so he can close the border was pretty funny.

- A bunch of stupid friggin questions from the moderators.  Peaceful transfer of power, did you lose the election, what color is Kamala Harris, etc.  Who the heck cares about that crap?

- Trump responding to the threat to democracy claim from Harris by saying Biden got 14 millions votes and she got none . . . talk about to threat democracy . . . was pretty good.

- Trump saying "quiet please" when Harris tried to talk over him again made me laugh out loud.

- Trump talking about how weak Harris is as demonstrated by her meeting with Zelensky and Putin invading three days later was good.

- They brought up Afghanistan, asked Harris if she bears any responsibility for how it played out, let her skate on her answer, then dropped the topic like a bad habit.  Ridiculous.

- The moderators didn't fact check Harris and Trump failed to clearly respond to Harris lying about supporting private health insurance and opposing gun confiscation.

- Talking about climate change was a waste of my time.

- Overall, Harris and her histrionics when she was not speaking looked unprofessional and non-presidential.  She sounded like someone who memorized and the repeated her lines.  Trump is unscripted and speaks more like a non-politician, but he really whiffed overall on forcing her to respond to the issues that matter.  He did hit her on her fracking lies, but not well enough.  I didn't like what I saw.

I want that two hours of my life back.  I should have gone to go see a lousy movie.

I also thought Trump mimicking VP Harris' line was hysterical.

I thought Trump told his base exactly what they like to hear... which was nothing they had not heard before from him.

There probably won't be another debate between these two, but if there is and you are in the same situation, go to a movie instead of watching the debate. LOL!

Hunter wasn't running, but the laptop proved the guy running was a liar, and possibly corrupt.

You think anyone who knew about Stormy Daniels would have changed their mind?  Lol.

So you mean the party of Family Values really were not interested in "family values" of their presidential candidate?

Of course, you don't know if that knowledge would have made someone change their mind.  Just like you don't know if the laptop story would have made someone change their mind.  It's a wash.

RFK - "Harris clearly won"

RFK Jr. Tells Fox News That Harris ‘Clearly Won the Debate'

https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=RFK+Jr.+Tells+Fox+News+That+Harris+%E2%80%98Clearly+Won+the+Debate%2C

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. thinks Vice President Kamala Harris “clearly” won Tuesday night’s debate over former President Donald Trump, despite endorsing the Republican nominee just a few weeks ago.

The former presidential candidate told Fox News anchors Wednesday that the vice president came off more polished than the former president.

“Vice President Harris clearly won the debate in terms of her delivery, her polish, her organization and her preparation. I think on substance, President Trump wins in terms of his governance, but he didn’t tell that story,” RFK Jr. said.

Good thing you didn't watch the debate.  Your TDfS would have left you in a coma.
Which one of those do you see as a defense of Trump? Maybe it's your perception of anything other than an attack on Trump is seen as a defense?

She wiped the floor with him.  He just whined and lied over and over again about the same things that have been exposed as false.

People eating dogs and cats?   ::)

Jails and mental institutions being emptied and sent here?   ::)

Murdering babies after they are born?   ::)

Still no "proof" that the 2020 election was rigged.  (Despite claiming to have proof that exonerates everyone)   ::)

And the funniest part was when she baited him to go down that rabbit hole about his rallies.    :D :D :D :D

She should debate him again now.  Or maybe he will just settle for his usual middle of the night rage tweets instead.

All easily provable….

Greg Kelly from Newsmax just brought up an interesting point.  President Trump directly answered 9 of 12 questions asked of him during the debate or 75%.  Harris directly answered 2 of 11 questions or 18%.  Who won that debate?

Sounds about right.  The moderators did nothing to try and force Harris to actually answer questions.  It was a joke.

That's true but how do the viewers and especially independents feel about who won the debate? Trump needs to prepare better for the next debate to be more focused and not go off on so many tangents.

I don't think Trump did well, but it does feel the debate didn't really hurt him surprisingly.

ABC is coming out of it looking awful, and people have seen the bias now.

But I'm also amazing how many softballs Harris threw out, that could have EASILY made her look stupid.  Trump whiffed so bad on these.

Don't know about the one Coach posted specifically, but here's this one from CNN:

"But voters who tuned in gave Trump a 20-point advantage over Harris after the debate on handling the economy, 55% to 35% – a margin that’s slightly wider than his pre-debate edge.

Debate watchers also gave Trump a 23-point advantage over Harris when it came to whom they trusted to handle immigration and a 6-point edge on handling the role of commander in chief."
