The greatest bodybuilders of the past have almost all won the Arnold Classic, from Rich Gaspari back in the day to Chris Bumstead more recently. So how come Arnold didn’t win it? It just shows how he was a one-dimensional bodybuilder who could only peak for one show a year. The best bodybuilders know how to win multiple shows because they understand their body and aren't afraid of competition.

The IFBB Pro Arnold Sports Festival, also known as the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival, is an annual multi-sport event consisting of professional bodybuilding (Arnold Classic), strongman (Arnold Strongman Classic), armlifting, fitness, figure, bikini and several others as a weekend expo. It was established in 1989 and is named after Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Maybe technically he did?  The premier pro bodybuilding show in Columbus run by Jim Lorimer was the Mr. World which Arnold won in 1970 (beating Sergio for 1st time).  He and Arnold then teamed up for the Arnold which is held in Columbus.

Foreman was selling grills for a decade and still stepped back in the ring. But Arnold? He just ran his mouth and did a few robot movies. He knew the new guys were on another level and didn't want to get smoked Real legends don't run from a comeback.

Like I said, he's just a one dimensional bodybuilder who only thrived when the sport was barely even a thing. No way he could hang with guys like Ramon Dino or Bumstead now.

He must have learned from Big Louie’s mistake with the Masters. Let the public crown you champion but never let the judges decide you’re not good enough.

Arnold played this smart, he left bodybuilding behind and focused on new passions. Maybe he wasn’t good enough, we can’t prove that. If he entered and lost it is proven .

He retired in 1974, they convinced him to compete once more in 1975 for the movie Pumping Iron and then he finally officially retired. 5 years later he made a comeback at the 1980 Olympia. How many comebacks he suppose to do? Besides, after winning all available titles during your prime and set numerous records, what's the point in doing yet another comeback at age 42 to win a contest you are promoting and named after you?

That's a really good question!  Amazing! A better one: why didn't he join the WBF and win one of those shows? He won contests in every other bodybuilding organization.
