It's 1980, the Pro Universe / World Pro Championships. 79 and 80 were his best years, although he was top 3 in the Olympia after that -

An older training partner back in the day swore that Wilcosz wore a beard to hide his chin/jaw because he was an early user of GH and it caused his jaw to protrude.

He's the only person who I ever heard claim this but he was adamant.  Im sure it's bullshit.

Indeed nonsense, he was of the pre GH generation
Wilkosz retired due to his age, nerve damage and his alcohol problems.

If anything a beard would make a jaw look even more protruded. I doubt he had a bigger one than Platz.

Born in 48, best contest years were 79 - 84ish, retired in 86. So late 20's - mid 30's were his best years.

Always liked his physique, it reminds me a bit of Mentzer and some of Arnold. He was Arnold's training partner sometimes, you can see the Arnold influence in the posing.
