There's open minded and there's weird
this goes for the latter
there's also right vs wrong. some things are just wrong, no need to go philosophical about stupid sh*t
I have many thoughts about this moral dilemma but getbig is not the place to discuss it.
With that said, if you want to read a great author who talks about moral decision making, read Jonathan Haidt. His book, “The Righteous Mind” is a great read.
PS: Haidt conducted a study where he asked people why two siblings having sex was wrong, particularly if it did not lead to negative consequences? Most just said “it’s gross.” Just saying something is gross is not a good way to make a moral decision. Haidt contends that moral decision making is based on moral intuitions, gut like reactions, not rational/logical processes, which is why when asked if two siblings can sleep together, there is an automatic “it’s gross,” even before the moral decision is contemplated.
