He's an idiot.

You don't have to be in shape to understand how it works.

How many fat out of shape coaches are in the NFL/NBA/MLB?

Did he get a new wig? ;D

He'll never be confused for Arnold Palmer in the locker room.

l agree you dont have be in shape to be a trainer or a coach.... but it does help immensely if youve "played the game" yourself.. i think being battle tested so to speak, is an advantage.

I think he's saying basically if you train people you should always be in shape yourself.

It helps in getting new clients but doesn't matter otherwise. If a current client is getting great results they won't care what you look like.

While no doubt true. If you are gonna talk the talk you should be able to walk the walk as they say.

True, but many are older and offseason.

Look at Kamali, he still trains and looks like shit, or Basile, same thing with lots of safety fat

You can still train and be in off season mode for life

Oh for sure, you need to have a resume to get a job.

But you don't need to take PEDs and walk around at 8% BF to be a personal trainer.

For sure, but nutrition is the easy part IMO.

If you can't get in shape, you are either lazy or have no idea how macros work.

It's very different when you bring in AAS and diuretics with carb depleting/loading with insulin and all that.

But for the average person, getting in shape just comes down to discipline and willpower.

There are no secrets from any guru's unless you just want to pay someone to tell you stories.

I think in sports like Boxing you can get away with it but people mainly go into a gym to look better...people are naturally vain
Boxing or athletic performances are about athletic ability.
If a Boxer has a 65 year old out of shape trainer it's not about his looks but his training knowledge.

I think that most of us who have been in this for a while know what should be done.
It is just a matter of will to do it.
I’ve found that it is actually much easiar to stay on a decent diet in my 40’s than it was in my 20’s.
But then again lots of other stuff even that out so…

Not talking about contest shape, or what is often here described as ”easy to maintain everyday look”. Just your basic nonbulging midsection and good muscle tone.

Most people who need a personal trainer don't want to do the effort needed to get results.

Makes sense to look fit, but makes even more sense to have good social media skills and smart, where one can show he trains a bunch of sexy influencers, payed off, and reach out a much bigger clientele. All about smoke and mirrors.
