It was!  In part because one can imagine some desperate/financially strapped people signing up for the chance to win even knowing their lives are on the line. Season one is a tough act to follow. But it’s a good reminder that Hollywood doesn’t own the market on entertainment and you do not need one or more big stars to make a series work.

There are some pretty good series coming from South Corea in recent years, "Hellbound" was pretty cool as well (not as good as Squid game though).

That was one of the very few scenes that made me shed a tear in recent years, was friggin intense the first time.

Better Call Saul was the Nasser El Sonbaty of the 1995 Olympia.  Breaking Bad was Dorian Yates. So you know what you are missing.

Watched the whole 1st season this week… IMO: overhyped, unrealistic bull crap. Still watched it but felt so dumb in several places… Scrolled forward through many meaningless time-consuming segments.

Will watch second season just for shits and giggles.
