If I were to play devil’s advocate, you have a car company based on a fuel the world is moving away from. You spent fuck all on R&D for electric and instead took a ‘smart tactic’ of letting small startups build the tech and market on your behalf where you could later simply move in and take large share…..

However, the Big companies let smaller ones go on for too long. Now many consumers know Tesla and BYD and prefer those brands. Big companies wind up locked out of the new tech and remain trapped in a market being phased out.

Faced with this, you need a scapegoat as nobody at the top ever falls on their sword. Allow your some Marketing team to go full retard and the backlash does what was inevitable anyway but you have people to blame now. The Gillette disaster the CEO said he had no idea….. 😂…. For Iaguar the CEO blames the public for racism and phobism……
