i could see the point in doing some kind of movement if having circulation problems in the legs but just working out for the sake of it on a plane is just stupid.. ::)

Some people are “different”.

No it was not due to the EKG.  There is a valid reason they do that for people who fly after a major surgery.  But yeah, like I said...you showed them by not wearing them.  They don't know how elite of an athlete you are

Hanky knows best. If you don't follow your post op instructions (like you didn't after the hernia operation) will this surgery count as "botched" as well?

As much as I fly, I've seen some weird shit.  This isn't really all that weird.  What was that NFL player name that performed knee ups up and down the aisle the entire flight that his teammates were on and trying to sleep?

Compression socks are good for long hauls, but at the end of a 30 hour flight they are going to be giving you horrendous itching.  Because of the way they dry your skin out by squishing the edema out.  (you know... which is what they are supposed to do)  I see people post flights scrubbing their shoes on top of their feet and up and down their legs constantly while going through immigration and waiting on their checked bags.  I never use them, but anything over 20 hours is terrible from what I see.  Using graduated compression socks or rubbing lotion/moisterizer/Gold Bond on your legs prior to putting them on can help a little.

I can see doing some stretching as it was a long flight but going up and down the aisles is just looking for attention.

I'd have lost my shit if I were on that flight. I'm flying almost 50 times a year right now and I just stay up late then knock myself out once on board. My tolerance for people is at an all-time low. I get rattled even when it's just some freak doing stretches and trying to smile and everyone. Get fucked.

I sat through the whole 7 hour flight once and for the first time in my life had big calves after that. Sadly the effect lasted only for about 30 minutes

a mate of mine who was a Tank Commander told me about a condition they had after up to 12 hours standing, swelling & pain below knee level.
Flights are the same you have to stand up at times go to the toilet & move your feet .

also on Ceremonial Duties standing for long periods you have to move your toes ..I personally only did Cermonial Duties once in `88 at Edinburgh Castle . Scotland in heat wearing Thick Traditionell uniform.

Yes, this is true.  What I do in addition is when I reach my destination of the connecting flight, I walk the airport for the duration.   If my layover is 2-3 hours, then I walk for that amount of time.  I don't sit down again until I am back on the plane.  Flying business class helps a lot, but also no alcohol and/or high sodium foods helps out too.  This is why I carry homemade protein bars with me when I travel.

Same thing...I fly about 20 - 30x a year.  I NEVER do the alcohol up in business.  I have one of those yeti bottles that I fill before flying and make sure to down the whole 32oz even with 90 min flights.  People drink all the sodas and then wonder why they feel like shit after.  I also bring my own food.  I ate a chipotle burrito sitting right next to this obese woman.  She kept staring over at me.

Yep, I carry two empty Fiji water bottles (big size) and Crystal Lite water flavoring.  Once through security I fill them up at the water bottle dispenser and carry on.

I think you made the right decision.

Don't trust doctors.  They are out to get you in many ways.

I’ve only worked out on an airplane once, and that was with Joel Stubbs on Bahamasair. Since it was only a 40 minute flight, we implemented mostly super and giant sets, so he could return to the cockpit to land (with a proper pump). We trained back. True story! I even took a photo afterwards.
