I would have pardoned my son too. I'm not sure why my team feels compelled to say things out loud that do not need to be said.
Damage control.
For instance, Biden never should have said he wouldn't pardon or commute Hunter's sentence. It's possible that he meant it at the time he said it and got spooked as his time in office comes to an end. But, why the fuck say it in the 1st place.
He never meant it dude. Maybe if he won he would have waited. But he was saying it to show his "integrity" as a candidate when his DoJ was utilizing lawfare to go after Trump. Now, is it possible it did it as an "FU" to the Democrats for forcing him out? Sure.
Another example is making the pronouncement that you are going to pick a black female as vice president. Why the fuck is it necessary to say/promise this out loud. I would have said I'm going to look at a whole host of candidates for VP. Men, women, persons of colour, gay, etc. Whomever is the best candidate will be my pick.
He did it to get virtue signal credit. Now, I totally agree with you, and I think Trump whiffed on a huge opportunity to make himself look good when he was asked if Harris was a DEI hire. Imagine this answer: "Well, I don't know, but if we go based on the President's words, the starting criteria was sex and skin color. I actually thought he did Kamala a disservice because no matter what, half the country will think she's only there due to her race and sex, and not her qualifications, based on his comments"
The dems need to learn from the republicans how to play politics aka lie better. Sadly, they probably won't and the country ultimately pays the price.
The Democrats lie infintely more than the republicans at this point. TDS induced lying. The data surrounding the positive/negative media coverage verifies this. Do republicans lie? Yup, but the left has been off the f'n charts, and it's one of the reasons they got shellacked this election.
