Liz Cheney and Bennie Thompson pre-emptive pardons coming?

GOP report: Liz Cheney should be investigated by FBI over Jan. 6 investigation

A new Republican oversight report accuses former Congresswoman Liz Cheney of colluding with witnesses in the Jan. 6 Select Committee investigation that she oversaw.

The bombshell report released Tuesday said Cheney should be investigated by the FBI for possible criminal activity for her role in the first committee, which was led by Democrats in the immediate aftermath of the conflict at the Capitol after now President-elect Donald Trump left office in 2021.

The Committee on House Administration's Subcommittee on Oversight Chairman Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., released the report, his second major report on the Jan. 6 storming of the Capitol.

Quote
Based on the evidence obtained by this Subcommittee, numerous federal laws were likely broken by Liz Cheney, the former Vice Chair of the January 6 Select Committee, and these violations should be investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Evidence uncovered by the Subcommittee revealed that former Congresswoman Liz Cheney tampered with at least one witness, Cassidy Hutchinson, by secretly communicating with Hutchinson without Hutchinson’s attorney’s knowledge. This secret communication with a witness is improper and likely violates 18 U.S.C. 1512. Such action is outside the due functioning of the legislative process and therefore not protected by the Speech and Debate clause.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation must also investigate Representative Cheney for violating 18 U.S.C. 1622, which prohibits any person from procuring another person to commit perjury. Based on the evidence obtained by this Subcommittee, Hutchinson committed perjury when she lied under oath to the Select Committee. Additionally, Hutchinson was interviewed by the FBI as part of its investigation into President Trump. This Subcommittee sought a copy of the FBI report 302, documenting this interview and Hutchinson’s statements, but the FBI has refused to produce this vital document. The FBI must immediately review the testimony given by Hutchinson in this interview to determine if she also lied in her FBI interview, and, if so, the role former Representative Cheney played in instigating Hutchinson to radically change her testimony.

I would love to see these people held accountable, but we know how it's likely to play out.  Either a pardon or even without a pardon nothing happens.

It keeps getting worse.

Today Biden's handlers commuted the death sentences of 37 out of 40 federal death row prisoners. Their sentence will be "reclassified" to life without the possibility of parole.

Among those whose death sentence he commuted are:

Thomas Sanders: Convicted for the horrific murder of 12-year-old Lexis Roberts, whom he shot 4 times and slit her throat, after killing her mother.

Jorge Avila-Torrez: Killed 2 young girls, Laura Hobbs (8) and Krystal Tobias (9), and later strangled Amanda Snell (20), a naval officer, in her barracks.

Kaboni Savage: A drug kingpin convicted of orchestrating the murder of 6 people, including four children, in a firebombing attack aimed at silencing a witness. The deliberate targeting of children and the use of arson to kill increase the severity of his crimes.

Iouri Mikhel: Involved in the kidnapping and subsequent murder of five immigrants despite receiving ransom payments.

Anthony Battle: While serving a life sentence for the rape and murder of his Marine wife, he murdered a prison guard with a hammer.

Lezmond Mitchell: Convicted for the brutal murder of a 63-year-old grandmother and her nine-year-old granddaughter in 2001. He forced the child to watch her grandmother's murder before killing her as well, with extreme cruelty, including mutilation.

Wesley Ira Purkey: Convicted of the violent rape, murder, and dismemberment of a 16-year-old girl, and the murder of an elderly woman.

Dustin Lee Honken: Murdered five people, including two men who were to testify against him and a mother with her two young daughters, to prevent them from testifying.

Daniel Lewis Lee: Part of a white supremacist group, he was convicted of murdering a family of three, including an eight-year-old girl. The method of execution (suffocation with plastic bags and duct tape, followed by disposal in water) adds to the cruelty of the act.

Alfred Bourgeois: Convicted of physically abusing, sexually molesting, and then beating to death his two-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

Thomas Silverstein: Known as "Terrible Tom," he was convicted of multiple murders, including the killing of a correctional officer in 1983. His history of violence while incarcerated, including the murder of inmates and guards, marks him as one of the most dangerous inmates.

Ronell Wilson: Convicted for the execution-style murders of two undercover NYPD detectives during a drug sting operation in 2003.

Richard Matthew Allen: Convicted of the 2017 murders of two teenage girls in Delphi, Indiana, in a crime that shocked the state.

Biden cited how he was "guided by his conscience and his experience" in making this decision and also that “In good conscience, I cannot stand back and let a new administration resume executions that I halted.” For all that drivel and despite his hypocritical objection to the death penalty, he made some exceptions.

Excluded from Biden's handlers' commutations are:

Robert D. Bowers, 52, who in 2018 gunned down 11 worshipers at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh

Dylann Roof, 30, who opened fire on black parishioners in 2015 at a church in Charleston, SC, killing 9 people

Boston Marathon Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 31

Biden's handlers and several Democrats kept insisting how the death penalty is "racist", here are the Death row statistics from the Death Penalty Information Center (before today's commutations).

When Hur mentioned these things in his report, such as Biden could not even recall when his son (Biden's favorite political prop) died, Biden said "how the hell dare he raise that". He even said his "memory is fine" and then proceeded to call the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi "the president of Mexico".
The establishment media also ran cover for Biden, as they have done continuously since Biden became the nominee in 2020. Just another chapter in the big book on Biden's senility and corruption and the establishment's complicity.

https://www.wsj.com/opinion/joe-biden-commutes-death-sentences-jorge-avila-torrez-anthony-battle-laura-hobbs-krystal-tobias-8ebc4e4f?mod=e2two

Biden’s Prisoners of (His) Conscience
Meet Jorge Avila-Torrez, the child killer the President has spared from death row.

Krystal Tobias, age 9, and Laura Hobbs, 8, were riding their bikes in the Chicago suburb of Zion in 2005 when Jorge Avila-Torrez grabbed them, sexually assaulted them, and stabbed them to death.

Laura’s father, Jerry Hobbs, found the bodies of the girls in a public park and was accused of their murder. He spent five years in prison pending trial, while Mr. Avila-Torrez remained at large.

In 2009 Mr. Avila-Torrez, who had by then joined the Marines, murdered 20-year-old fellow Marine Amanda Jean Snell. According to a statement from the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, he “jumped on her as she slept in her bed, bound her wrists with the power cord from her laptop computer and strangled her with the rest of the cord.”

A federal jury sentenced Mr. Avila-Torrez to death, taking into account his prior convictions for having kidnapped three young women in Arlington, Va., in 2010, “one of whom he raped, sodomized, strangled and left for dead.” He later pleaded guilty to the murder of the young girls in Zion.

Mr. Avila-Torrez is one of the 37 inmates whose federal death sentences were commuted to life in prison by President Biden on Monday. Capital punishment is a debatable question, and Mr. Biden cited his own “good conscience” Monday as justification for sparing the hangman. He said he couldn’t allow “a new administration to resume executions that I halted.”

But why does Mr. Biden think his conscience is superior to those of the jury, or for that matter of the larger society and Congress that have reserved the death penalty for especially heinous crimes?

Consider Anthony Battle, who killed an Atlanta prison guard with a hammer while serving a life sentence for raping and killing his wife. As the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals described it, in 1994 correctional officer D’Antonio Washington was “found lying on the floor of Cellhouse C with blood spurting out of his head.” Mr. Battle was found standing near a vending machine where he had hidden the hammer he used for the murder.

How can society protect prison guards if inmates with life sentences can kill them without risk of death row? Juries found Mr. Biden’s commuted killers deserved the ultimate punishment for their crimes, which aren’t in dispute.

Meanwhile, Mr. Biden has left the death penalty on the table for three killers who murdered Jewish congregants at a synagogue, African-American worshippers at a church, and innocents at the Boston Marathon. These killers still get the chair, but multiple child killer Jorge Avila-Torrez doesn’t? Mr. Biden’s inconsistent conscience is an affront to the victims, and it has not made the justice system better or the country safer.

Pardons next?

Biden is giving the second highest civilian award to the leaders of the Jan. 6 congressional panel

President Joe Biden is bestowing the second highest civilian medal on Liz Cheney and Bennie Thompson — the lawmakers who led the congressional investigation into the violent Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot by Donald Trump’s supporters, and who Trump has said should be jailed.

Biden will award the Presidential Citizens Medal to 20 people in a ceremony Thursday at the White House, including Americans who fought for marriage equality, a pioneer in treating wounded soldiers, and two of the president’s longtime friends, former Sens. Ted Kaufman, D-Del., and Chris Dodd, D-Conn.
