Pro bodybuilders need to listen to this. "Win the croud and you will win your freedom."

Pro bodybuilders will always be caged by the thong.

Many of the gladiators were enslaved Israelites after the fall of Israel via Rome.  Today, America which is a mixture of Rome and Egypt, use boxing,  MMA, NFL, NBA as their new "gladiators."  Hell, I'll even throw in IFBB in a twisted but true way.

I like Denzel but can't buy him as a Roman Emperor or whatever he's supposed to be here.  It's like if they had the Gladiator played by a broad.

Maybe Wiggs can "weigh in" on the matter.

Can't make my mind up about Ridley Scott. he's made movies that have created whole new genres, and some of the best movies in the history of cinema in general, but also some rather mid stuff.

Didn’t he make Gods and Kings?  That not so good remake of the Ten Commandments staring Christian Bale?  Yuck.

Extremely boring movie. I didn't even watch ten minutes.

Other recent mid movies from Ridley:

Prometheus
Alien covenant
All the  money in the world
Napoleon

Was a complete mess.    They had sharks in the coliseum , the emporers were like a cartoon, the opening battle scene lacked any depth or excitement , Denzel was a ridiculous choice as well.   He was like Obama in Rome.

I agree with the exception for Prometheus, that one was excellent (might even be the best movie from the entire Alien franchise)

That was one of the most epic scenes I had ever seen on the big screen

Prometheus was almost ok.  His career as a director seems to have peaked.  Maybe he should pull a George Lucas a write scripts/executive produce and leave the directing to others.  I used to look forward to. R. Scott film…. It was an automatic yes.  Now… I automatically say no.  M. Night Shamalan same thing.

Sharks? ???

They did a mock naval battle in the coleseum.    That part is true !  The Roman’s did that.   But they added sharks in there and it made the scene ridiculous.

Adding the sharks made it VERY silly.

I also know they did try to re-enact famous naval battles in the colosseum, but imagine the logistics with the sharks lol
