Australia is in the middle of a heat wave in most cities. It was about 100 degrees F in Western Sydney. Backpackers assemble at popular Sydney beaches on Christmas day to get together, drink and party. Bondi used to be where everyone went but the local council objected so people went to Coogee and this year Bronte Beach which is close to Bondi in Sydney. I am from Kamloops in Canada and have never liked the hot days at Christmas time I used to go to the beach with my son while my ex prepared a traditional dinner. Ah, the good old days.

You can have that....it`s been around 8 degrees Farenheit and so far we have about 7 inches of snow.

This is the Classic Christmas Syndrome.  I feel the same way.  Christmas is technically associated with cold weather, snow and fireplaces as you said.   That is why Santa lives at the North Pole, stuffs stockings hung by the fireplace, etc..

But then I realized that about 2/3 of the world is in average to hot weather during Christmas season.  7 year old me was surprised.
