The one I like the most is that commercial that says "when is a weight loss pill worth 300 dollars? When it works"    LOL    So many suckers out there..   It works 'cause it costs so much

The same company (or companies, if you prefer) puts out the majority of the infomercials you see on TV, including "When is a weight loss pill worth . . . ."

They control upwards of 15-20% of the mass-market diet category, which is where the majority of the general public spends their dollars.  Fat, gullible Wal-Mart shoppers looking for the next quick fix . . . .

Funny thing is, the product formulas are strikingly similar - yet when you slap a new label on it, establish a new LLC, and make a new commercial, the product begins flying off shelves again because it's "new" again.

Make your money, let the product run its course through the web, GNC, mass-market until it dies naturally.  Put the same s**t in a new bottle and make a new commercial, and it takes off . . . . .

I worked for this company (unfortunately) - if walls could talk . . . .

I must admit I contribute some------all hail the powers of the ECA stack-----but supplements don't mean sh*t unless you have your diet down pat----and even then I stick to the basics

I used to manage a couple of supplement stores and some people spend hundreds of $ in a 1-2 week period and 1. dont lift and do cardio enough and 2. think that all supplements are going to magically cancel out the 3000 calories they just consumed from Mcdonalds

JESUS ROCKS

Christ loves you, he loves me, he loves Bob, and he loves bodybuilding! Why not give to him a small part of what he gave for you!

You can get an ECA stack for about $15 at any pharmacy:

yeah---i used to buy thermo-pro from prolab back in the day---cause it was cheap as f*ck---you got 2 bottles of 100something pills--each one 25mg of ephedra and the caffene etc... for like 15$----I still have some left from stocking up before the ban ;D----but I feel u--if I had to I would just but it at the gas station and shoot it down with an espresso and large coffee

I don't know how "good, old-fashioned" it is - it borders unethical and predatory if you ask me.  The FTC seems to think so as well, as this company has already seen (and will continue to see) it's share of hot water.

The new commercial that offers the same product at a more affordable price is the same company.  You can spot the infomercials a mile away - they're all the same format, just different pitchmen.

Even with the more "affordable" alternative - which was meant to capitalize on the mass market, fixed budget crowd - the original $153 direct-order version never suffered.  I've seen the sales numbers, they would curl your hair.

Speaking of ECA Stack - that was theirs too.  The old purple bottle actually named "ECA Stack".  Are bodybuilders stupid - remember that?  If you only knew the amount of rice powder actually used . . . .

Endothil?  Another one - for those of you that have bought this one, keep in mind it costs less than $1 to make.  Choke on that, if you haven't choked on that nasty-ass V8 flavored tablet already . . . .

I agree with everything you said. But it's still the same old marketing strategy companies have been using for decades. Whether it's your "new and improved" dishwashing soap that merely got a new color, or your "new and improved" TV dinner that got one insignificant ingredient change, they all pray on our desire to have the latest and greatest. I'm not saying it's ethical, but it's a standard across the board and has been used since the introduction of snake-oil.
