Everyone leaving CA. Colorado vs Texas opinions
« on: January 08, 2025, 12:29:15 PM »
for the cost of renting a 3br house in Aliso Viejo, we can buy a mini-ranch in CO or Texas (we breed Pom's. even an acre would be plenty)... and it seems everyone is leaving for Texas. and I like the idea of living in Texas, but what about Colorado? (or Tennessee? AZ I suppose would be on the top 5 as well)

was in CO last year and couldn't believe how much cheaper everything was despite them having the same Min Wage as CA. except the weed. that was more expensive. going through bout 1oz a week, that's like 3lbs a year. What's the weed situation in Texas?

I know gun laws in Denver are different from the rest of the state. and Vail I believe. Vail's surrounding area WAS on the list until I learned that.
but what about gun laws in CO vs TX?

why the hell don't most houses in CO have basements?!?

property taxes CO vs TX?

Cost of living in TX?

the Weather? I spent about 10yrs in the scorching hell hole of Palm Springs area and hated it. so hot during summer nobody goes out, everyone who can, leaves because it's 100+ at Midnight for months straight. then it's "ok" for 3 months of winter. & spent 5yrs in the midwest where it was about 100 and humid 90% for 3months a year, and had 2-3' of snow every winter. That sucked too... Growing up in San Diego, and now in OC, the weather is perfect, so anywhere is going to be a sacrifice lol.

I'm sure Im forgetting stuff

Colorado is a libtard state if that's a consideration.

I'm a tall handsome blue eyed Republican white man with muscles who wears nice pants and shined Allen Edmonds. Cartel isn't going to fuck with someone who would bring attention to them... usually. like that Mormon family incident. They usually steer clear of civilians who look like they vote.

"cartel" is usually young kids who are already pretty stupid, like IQ of 85 stupid (1 point above "re tard" and just above the cut off to enlist in the US Army lol) and are also addicted to meth (and now crack for some reason... got really popular among those dudes) and if they fuck up, their boss will get rid of them and their job isn't to fuck with civilians. I'm more worried about the 1k+ "Fighters" Al-Queda has waiting inside the US who're trained to carry out another Oct 7-style attack, than I am about the cartel's.

As foreigners considering a move to the US, our pick would be Texas.

Texas is Elon’s state. once he moves everything there, infrastructure progress will be insane. That state will develop into a Tier 1 city in China but most will wait to see it built before they consider a move. It’s cheap now, won’t be for much longer.

You’re considering moving to Vail, CO because it’s cheaper?

I lived a couple of years in Dallas.  Everyone has a huge air conditioner and electricity is cheap.  An F250 King Ranch is very common like it's a Camry.

Coming from California, you would be shocked how affordable housing is.

I think Austin would be less culture shock for you.

Stay away from the border. The cartels do very little in Texas unless you are involved in drugs or go looking for trouble.

Austin used to be a great place to live, but it's a total shitshow now.

ESFitness - If you have money look into The Woodlands north of Houston. The problem is the weather sucks, it's hot/humid 9 months of the year but easy to find a good job and everything is more affordable.

Colorado is trending downhill very fast, unless you want to live somewhere like Steamboat or Durango.

If you like to "GT Drive", the area between Houston, Austin, San Antonio, (Central Texas) is great for that.  Also if you can speak German (Austrian) or Czech that is a plus in that area.

I put 250,000 miles on this car in this area until the engine blew up. (VR6 Golf GTI, naturally aspirated, 200 Horsepower, six speed stick)

GT stands for Grand Touring.

The areas you mentioned are as flat as a pancake and some of the most boring drives in Texas.

If someone wanted to experience a real drive in Texas, try devil's backbone.

I've never heard those languages anywhere near Schulenberg or the likes, I was born and raised in a Czech area, nobody spoke it in public.

Better off learning Spanish.

I live in California.  If anybody’s leaving you could fool me.  I can’t tell anybody’s left.

If you want reasonably priced houses, try Ohio.  There the houses are about 1/4 or less the price of California houses.  Better yet try West Virginia, houses there are dirt cheap.

I actually know of like three people that have left California.

One to Texas one to Nevada and one to Tennessee. Everyone but the Tennessee guy is moving back. Hated it.

Aliso is nice. Maybe go a little further east to LF/Tustin/MV or something and buy a house.

I didn't say it was necessary or expedient...However, the natives really open up if you converse in German or Czech.

If everyone is leaving Colorado the cost of living will go down there and I'll move in. The beauty of Western Colorado is breathtaking.
