very well Dorian has a short torso and Mike a longer one , when they did the back training article for Flex , Mike looked wider when they were doing rear latspreads side-by-side , his thickness amazing especially in the lumbar , his time came to soon , he never reached his full potential , imagine him with another 5 years of heavy training? and his waist always remained small .

Francios was the real deal...no doubt about that!

I met him once...very friendly and down to earth. He still is very thick and trains hard but not in a way to get back on the stage. I have a buddy who is prepping under his tutelage getting ready for Jr. Nationals...tells me he thought he trained hard until Mike starting training him. I think he said he paid him $1000 down and $75 everytime they meet which is 3x's a week...doesnt get too much into the 'gear' cycle/outlines...just training/diet plans.

Thanks for the great pics ND - keep them coming. Mike was at his best at the 1995 Arnold Classic and at the 1997 Arnold classic. I loved how he was very humble and quiet and got the job done, rather than talk a lot of shit and miss his peak. He was very similar to Dorian and Jay (cutler) in his work ethic. He had a lot of parallels to Jay - both of them having freaky legs, a very wide rear lat spread, awesome arms, work(ed) with Chris Aceto etc. The only difference is that Mike, due to his powerlifting background, used to use insane weights (almost as much as Ronnie did at his peak).

It is such a shame that his colon got ulcered and he was forced to pull out of competing. ND, if you can, can you scan and post pics from the 1995 Arnold classic where Mike destroyed Flex (especially the pics from the Musclemag report) and also this one training article from FLEX, where there is a totally sick B&W shot of Mike doing a seated concentration curl? Thanks in advance.

And, not to divert this topic or anything, but ND, could you also acknowledge Ronnie's superiority over Dorian

There was this one tiny B&W pic in Musclemag's 1995 Arnold classic report showing a front double bi shot of Mike, Flex and Charles Clairmonte. Can anyone scan and post that pic please. It was shot a little long-distance and the structural difference between Mike and Flex stands out almost as much as how freakishly big Mike's arms and legs were

1995 Again Lee Haney was at this show and he thought Flex should have won just based on his superior shape and said Mike was just to " lumpy " and FYI This was the last show of the great Lee Labrada , the end of an era .

Let this thread go on and on ! Mike was the shit. You should have seen him In person. He was so thick and granite hard looking. You just had to see him in person.
