I've been completely psychologically dependent on a smartphone. I don't dare leave the apartment to walk 150 meters to the cornershop because what if 'something happens'? I didn't have a stationary or laptop for getbigging for many years either until recently. They way I see it smattphones are revolutionary in how they CAN improve your life, can check any fact or info at any time, can find where ny place is whereever you are and so on. OTOH they may cause some types of psychological damage, even anatomical damage when you bend your neck at all times (there's a Swedish term for it). You have all rhe info in the world at your fingertips. "But does it make you happier" the old folks say. Many old folks are against smartphones on principle, even solutions like where you can transfer cash immediately which is vey useful. You don't have to wait days for a bank transfer to go through... some old folks I know refuse these advancements and they have no good reason for it, just a distaste for new things.
