Most people have to live through others who are excelling at things they adore.
I personally have always been endeared by John "Dean" Carmack, especially in the 90ies, and collected all info I could find. If I had the money I would have paid him 100K to just be able to watch him programming for a day. He has the wits and willpower that I have always lacked.
