That’s good. Maybe they’ll start carrying better food in convenience stores now.

I think it is a fair decision. Tax payer money should not be spent on junk food and candy for these people.

They actually use their food stamps to purchase their own food?  Go to Miami.  Walk in any grocery store there and put things in a cart.  Get to the check out line and you will have encountered at least two people already who will purchase your items on their EBT card if you pay them half the value in cash.

When you hear stories of EBT being used to purchase lobster and wagyu beef, this is what is happening.  These welfare peeps aren't buying it for themselves and running home and cooking it.  It's someone else's purchase.

Very bad news for Shizzo. He’ll now have to pay out-of-pocket to eat his Snickers upside down to enjoy the veiny texture on his tongue

My only experience with it was a guy I knew a while ago who would use his food stamps to buy good food day one and then have shit the rest of the month.

I had a roommate in college who would buy your groceries on a credit card if you gave him half the money. He never paid his cards and filed bankruptcy at like 21 years old. Crazy shit.

I for one don’t give two shits what people who use food stamps buy food wise. Jun food and soda or chicken and veggies. Eat whatever the fuck you want. I just don’t the food stamps should be allowed for cigs and booze( not sure if you can just saying).

My buddies brother who became a junkie ended up getting a food card monthly with 400 on it and he would sell the card every month for 250 to some guy.

Yep, but I will disagree on the it's always for someone else though. Lobster, Wagyu beef? Yes. But on the regular tip, EBT week is always a fancy junk food frenzy. Women buying full priced Digiorio frozen pizza. Fancy brands of chips and cold cuts, etc.... I lived my youth in a lower middle class neighborhood, and that was one of the jokes. The grocery store ad would be filled with ice cream ads, big Boar Head's ads, etc... And you'd wonder why, then it would hit you that it was "welfare week" for some folks.

Also, I don't know if they still do it, but in the 90's, early 2000's, you could buy fast food with EBT / food stamps. It was nothing to see families blow 3/4s of the food stamps on a couple of McDonalds or Chinese food feasts.

People on any govt assistance will get a shock back to reality these coming years.

Gone are the days of getting handouts to do whatever you want. It will all be dictated to them what they can and cannot get with their taxpayer funded money.

I don't know if it varies state to state but in Michigan they can't buy beer or cigs on their EBT cards.

As you and others point out they come up with inventive barter systems to work around it and acquire all the booze and cigarettes they can afford.

What I would see in detroit is a bum hanging outside of a market or convenience store and propose to buy people's groceries for them if the people in return would buy their beer / liquor or cigarettes.

The foods aren’t banned; the government wouldn’t pay for them.

It seems you may be confused..

Not confused, don't really care, I don't eat garbage. I eat eggs, chicken breast, broccoli, oatmeal, drink only H2O only good shit. BAn that SHIT so it isn't available. In lieu of that,  lets stamp those on food stamps with a bar code on their head so they can be identified and not given junk foods.

lol, your hatred for him is stopping you from thinking clearly.

I question how much a president alone can even control inflation but if that were the case those numbers would be on Biden and not Trump.

Those numbers happened in the last 3 weeks, It's not trending well. But at least Muskelinni is doing just fine. You tell me these fine specimens don't partake in the occasional jelly donut.

Don’t care about personal attacks against them, but the truth is important and it contradicts what you wrote. “If inflation is up 10%, the biggest impact on that number would likely come from the most recent months or year, depending on how inflation is measured.

Key Timeframes:
   1.   Year-over-Year (YoY) Inflation
   •   If inflation is reported as “up 10%,” it’s often measured from the same month in the previous year.
   •   This means the biggest contributing factors likely happened in the past 6–12 months.
   2.   Recent Months’ Weight on Inflation
   •   Inflation is usually calculated using a weighted basket of goods.
   •   The most recent 3–6 months can have a major influence, especially if prices have risen sharply in that period.
   3.   Multi-Year Trends
   •   If inflation has been compounding over multiple years, looking back 2–5 years can provide context.
   •   A steady rise in prices over time would mean older inflation trends still play a role, but short-term spikes often cause the biggest jumps.

Would you like a breakdown of how different sectors (housing, energy, food) contribute to inflation over time?”
