The Russians have given their non-negotials to agree with before any talks with Ukraine can even start, among them no foreign forces there and no negotiations with Zelensky period as in their view Zelensky legally is not the president, can't sign any deals. I don't think this ends anytime soon, Russia holds all the cards and will not agree to any ceasefires, it will have to be a permanent agreement, but I'm just a YT watcher

Problem with giving in to Russia is also that Putin is showing to be imperialistic. His ideal seems to be expand Russia(Soviet as he sees it). He's one of these leaders that wants to make an imprint in history.
