14 years for Vlad?
Well, I think that Vlad had all the cards in negotiations with the Jays (especially after Juan Soto’s monster deal.). There’s no way that Vlad’s AAV should exceed what Aaron Judge got, but Jays ownership was desperate to retain “the face of the franchise” with no young phenoms in the system and plenty of premium seats to sell in their newly renovated stadium.
BTW I
was a Jays fan, but really just an overall baseball fan. (I have MLB.TV and tune in to the most interesting game that’s on.) I gave up my seats 9 years ago because I was never around to attend games. Even my last couple of years with tickets, I just sold ‘em all on StubHub. Spend most of my time in the U.S. and winters in Colombia.
