Nick Walker vs Derek Lunsford in Pittsburgh

I can't bring myself to look at videos or pictures of bodybuilding shows or youtube reviews any more, but I saw a lot comments that Derek was lucky to win here. Scorecards were level

What are getbiggers thoughts? Was Nick really that good, or did Derek just suck? Was it a good old fashioned IFBB screwjob?

Nick might have been his all time best and Derek was down from his Arnold victory.  I thought Nick won.

I had Derek beating Nick pretty convincingly at the Pittsburgh Pro, but a week makes a big difference. If Derek would have entered the NY Pro, Nick would have beat him.

Choosing Nick is going backwards in progress. Meaning the gut and the veins are a big NO! If Nick had a much better abdominal wall, he'd be better than Derek. Can't get over that atrocious gut.

Nick's gut is messy. Lunsford and him look close in most still pics, but watching it on video or live, you can see him lose control of it then tighten up fast. Derek deserved to edge him out.

Leading up to these shows I remember all you guys saying Nick was done, would never win a show again. Krizo would easily beat him. Nick wasn't even a second tier competitor. I said let's just see what happens before we write him off, judges have liked him historically and that Nick was looking like he has the past few years, no progress but neither was there any big regression.

None of this means I like his physique or he deserves this or that.

I saw where even Phil Heath said Nick could/should have beat Derek. Phil is the aesthetic type of bb so it's interesting for him to say that I think.

Nick really bumped  up his chances  coming to the Olympia.
Krizo was in great shape with Farah in his corner in Pitts and NYC ,not sure why he did  not stay one more week to beat Grimes in CA.

From the pictures I saw, it looked like Nick won but pictures vs live is very different.

Im not a huge fan of Nick, but he made some improvements and Derek looked slightly better a year or two ago.

From what I've seen Krizo did have thinner skin but I had said Krizo might have trouble "projecting" well regardless, especially from a distance. If anyone has good quality pics of comparisons of these two from the stage please post. Nick did look very sloppy in those pre-comp pics but I predicted he would be in his usual condition and he was. Lighting in a posing room or where ever and the type of camera and lack of filter application affect things too. I also said the choice of coach would only affect the look fairly minimally and I think we saw that.

I think Hadi and Nick both are closer to Derek from the back than Derek is to them from the front.  I hope Andrew Jacked can take big step this year and win the whole thing.  To me, he looks like he should be Mr. Olympia.

He gets quite a few points with those glutes, which is all genetics of course. I think he's taken the site enhancement to another level with his back but they have managed to make it look "good." Him winning the O was an insane accomplishment though, coming from the little guy class.
