Anybody else think they would have been better off allowing the Classic Physique guys to stick with traditional thongs? No other class, women or the or the other men’s classes are regimented like that (revenue opportunity?). They probably wanted an obvious distinction from Men’s Open but it reduces the excitement quotient and tends to conceal glutes and leg tie-ins.

Classic physique should have classic draws, circa 40's - early 80's. That being said, they should allow them to pick different classic colors.

Yeah, he was definitely one of the forerunners, I think 84 is the year you definitely see the change in cut. They need to define the what they think is the classic era. If it includes through the 80's, early 90's, then perhaps it should be competitions choice, with the stipulation that it it includes reasonable crotch and glute coverage (the latter especially, I think that causes the most trouble for viewers).

Glutes do not matter in Classic. They were even intentionally fully covered by the original posing shorts/trunks

Of course glute shreds are judged. It's probably the single most important thing to have in classic and I don't even follow it at all but have picked this up anyway. This should be obvious
