Of course it's a scam.
Unfortunately boxing has become among the worst with blatantly biased officiating.
But football, basketball, and to some extent baseball and hockey too. But Football and basketball are insufferable. I can't stand the athletes, the owners, the TV networks, the commercials and the refereeing... BUT most of all the fans suck donkey dick.
These people are the worst- generally speaking- but you know the fans whose girlfriends suddenly act like they give a shit about any of it, the fans who wear the jersey of their favorite team and the name of ANOTHER grown man on their back! The fans who paint their face, the fan who will argue to the point of fighting - just get sooo fucking pissed that they're willing to risk it all over which team has the best X or Y and never realize that none of those players give a FUCK about them.
Go to the arena or stadium and get absolutely gouged for crappy food and pisswater beer. 15$ for a mug of budweiser. 75$ for a T-shirt, God knows what for a jersey. Not only do the athletes not give a fuck about their fans, the organizations absolutely FLEECE their fans with their prices of all their fucking junk. To say nothing of the ticket prices and parking prices.
Lastly, the athletes. Once they sign their contract they don't give a shit. It becomes a job. A 9-5 nothing more. They care about making money and blowing money than working hard.
