Cynthia James (CJ) was always an incredible person backstage, around with the competitors, made them suits, worked on making sure if there was any issues, would take care of them. CJ was always, always nice and respectful, always had a smile, and took the time to say hello to all. RIP
From her CH's Elite Instagram...

Her passion for the industry was evident in every suit she made, and she truly paved the way for so many. CJ became an icon in the industry, with many contributions over the past 30 years. She hosted shows, outfitted competitors, and much more. CJ's legacy will live on forever, as she made an unforgettable impact.
We are so grateful for the support and love you have shown CJ over the years. Your business meant the world to her. At this time, her family asks for privacy as we grieve this profound loss. CJ's spirit will live on in the beautiful garments she crafted and in the hearts of all who knew her.
From NPC News
On Saturday we all received the devastating news that CJ (Cynthia James) had passed away. For those that have been involved in the NPC & @ifbb_pro_league for decades, going back to the 1980’s, knew CJ mainly as a suit maker for the sport. She is literally the OG Suit Maker that helped create that part of the industry as we know it today. She was a constant presence backstage at numerous NPC contests not only in Florida but around the country including many NPC local, regional & Pro Qualifiers like the NPC Jr. Nationals & @npcnationals plus so many @ifbb_pro_league contests from the Arnold to the @mrolympiallc & everything in between. Over the past few days you’ve seen many Olympia champions thanking her for the suits she made them. She was a #largerthanlife presence backstage & willing to help any competitor fix their suits, including suits she didn’t even make!
.
What most people don’t know is that she started out in the NPC as a Fitness competitor, she was also an NPC judge & NPC promoter! On top of that she always had a positive attitude & was always making many of us laugh throughout the sometimes very long contest days! Besides the fitness industry her designs expertise were sought out by pro athletes from other sports & she clothed Stevie Nicks & handled The Rolling Stones 1994 Voodoo Lounge Tour making outfits for both Mick Jagger & Ronnie Wood & did all the crew jackets & shirts!
.
To say she will be missed is an understatement & her passing will be felt for sometime. She really was one of a kind Condolences to & prayers to CJ’s family & friends. We hope you enjoy some of the photos we’ve put together that we feel represents how everyone remembers CJ
