This seems vague or maybe like outrage bait.  Was he ever convicted of sexual assault of a minor?  Did the biographer characterize the relationship as pedophilia-like?

I would think if Harvey was convicted of sexual assault they wouldn't have named a ship after him nor would they if his biographer claimed his relationship with this kid was sexual or romantic.  If that's the case I support not naming a ship after him. 

If it's just weaponization of anti-LGBTQ I suggest go find something else to get your homophobe panties in a bunch over.  It's no different of a waste of time like Libs wanting to get "god" off of government buildings built before the mid-1900's.

Harvey's discharge from the navy was not a 'dishonorable discharge', it was 'other than honorable' which may seem like the same thing, but it is not according to the military. The reason he was given the ‘other than honorable discharge’ was because he admitted he was homosexual. In the 1950s, when Harvey was in the Navy, being gay in the military was grounds for discharge.

Whether or not Harvey Milk had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old when he was 34-years-old is a supposed biographer's word against his. Since Harvey Milk is deceased, and the victim would now be 95 years old, and likely also deceased, disputing the unsubstantiated claim is all but impossible.

Not a whole lot of difference between a dishonorable discharge and an other than honorable discharge (OTH).  And we don't why he was given an OTH.  That almost always happens when a service member is administratively discharged due to misconduct, after being afforded a hearing, being represented by counsel, etc.
