Reminds me of (blank) and his stories of being banned from wrestling for his violence.

That's complete bullshit.

1. I don't care what anyone says, BB is a contact sport.

2. Call a flagrant on the kid.

3. If this is his first offense, take him out of the game. If this is a habit, suspend him for a few games.

4. If he doesn't stop, he's done playing the remainder of his HS playing career. It's on his record and will probably never play again in an organized league

5. But charging the kid with a felony and arresting him? This kids life will be ruined for a long while by an over protective parent who's kid will grow up with the his peers knowing he was a pussy because of his mom. Ridiculous

What a load of nonsense.

It happened on the court, punish him in the game first of all. As coach says suspend and ban him from the game further down the line if necessary. He didn't pull a knife or a gun in the game, he just played rough.

Puts me in mind of Duncan Ferguson, a football ( soccer for you guys) player who headbutted an opponent on the field in a match here in Scotland and was jailed for it. He was already red carded and banned for 12 games, that should have been the end of it

If the kid didn’t want to be charged with a felony, he shouldn’t have assaulted the other players.  Pretty simple.

Contact sport or not, this has no place in basketball:

That is exactly what I expected that kid to look like when I read West Virginia and the name gage. I know nothing about basketball so not sure what is typical in the game.

He'll never make the NBA playing like this. He needs to learn to stand around and not play defense and watch the other team score like those millionaires in the NBA.

Im torn on this. On the one hand, sports are physical and things happen. On the other hand, there has to be some boundary between what's acceptable during the game vs. what is clearly assault during the game.

The kid has a different concept of "contact" as applied to basketball:

"The video showed Ketterman jab his elbow “directly in the face” of an opposing player, police said. Throughout the game, the clip also showed him allegedly taunting multiple players by striking them in the back of the head."
