This is true but i have a small Telescopic Batton which is easy to carry. If i get attacked with a blade at least i have a chance...all the kung fu bollox goes out the window against a shank

I have some cheap paring knives that indeed would also be good.

For emergency self-defense they would do serious damage.

As far as durability who cares.  You probably never use it more than once.

I was looking at knives and those Microtech knives, the automatic ones, are very sexy. Crazy expensive. Would be nice as sort of a fidget spinner, popping it in and out China has good copies cheap but haven't bought one yet.
