Exactly. UK police are toothless and there to serve power, not citizens. Just look at how they were ruthlessly manhandling old-age pensioners, academics, and young students for simply calling out UK-supported terrorism by holding signs up. So you live in a decent town, but what about the rest of the country? There are decent areas in every state and shitty ones. I've lived in SoCal my entire life and there are areas that I wouldn't go after dark but I walk the streets any time day or night in the area I live. Doesn't mean the rest of the state is doing well. You should feel lucky to live an area where people are willing to stick together and work as a community, that's hard to find.
