Yes, entered his show back in 1989, he put on the best show in the country back then, he had all the Universe class winners guest posing including Charles Clairmonte who won the pro that year

He was a good guy, a unique individual.

i WENT TO the Mr North Wales in Wrexham in 1988 aged 15.The bloke who put the show on Dennis Phoenix (who sadly died in his 40's) a former mr wales used to put on the show.

Walter guest posed and his son Joe won the show. The guest posers were Vince Brown and Peter Reid. And walter. Through Dennis I got to meet all the guest posers. Also as an under 16 very few gyms in Liverpool would let you train. So I used to bunk a train an hour and a half away on a wednesday (I would sag school wed afternoon) and a saturday morning. Den would let me train for free becuase of the distance i travelled.

My training was as follows

Squats 2 x 15-20
(pullovers over bench after each set
Pulldown 2 sets
Bench Press 2 sets
Dumbell Press 2 sets
Shrugs 2 sets
Chin Ups 2 sets
Dips 2 sets
Deadlifts 2 sets

over a year doing this I went from 120lb to 168lb no roids obviously

I used to hide protein powder in a shed andeat it with a spoon- it was bought from the bodybuilding monthly guy dave williams?  and i thought it was like gear.

Halcyon fucking days.

at 16  and 160 natty i could do 2 x 20 with 240lb on the squats and could chin up and dip with 20kg plate added.

a great time to be alive!

also say Bob Paris do a seminar and he looked ridiculous.

I competed with Joe at a local show in 90 I think the year, a Mr Pemberton at Maximes nightclub, I placed 2nd and he placed 3rd...he was a lot bigger than me but came in soft.

I saw Bob Paris in 1989, went to Bradford as my wife couldnt get the night off for his Wigan seminar
It was the same day as the Bradford stadium fire, it was all over the radio as we were driving down there

That's a very good program

Very similar to AJ's early routines
