He was never going to make it anyway.  Too lazy and undisciplined to make it through.   Showing up high on pot at the first function was an awful first impression, as well as humiliating his wife with those two younger women he was arm in arm with.  I'm sure both played a factor as well as whatever Josh and the admissions committee sat down and discussed at the meeting.
