Reminds me of one of the great Percy Bysshe Shelley's works:

I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

That one went way over my head

Guess my IQ isn't as high as I thought it was 😂

I ran it through AI to explain it to a 5-year old:

Once there was a man who told a story about a very old king named Ozymandias. This king thought he was super important and wanted everyone to remember how great he was. He even had a giant statue made of himself, with big legs and a scary face, to show how powerful he was.

But a long time later, the statue was broken. Only the legs and part of the face were left, lying in the sand. The fancy words on it said, “I’m Ozymandias, King of Kings! Look at my great works and be amazed!”

The funny part is… there were no works left. Everything he built was gone. The desert was empty and quiet, and the statue was all that remained.

So the poem is saying: people might think they’re really important, but time keeps going, and even the biggest, strongest things can disappear.

Interesting thanks for the simplification

What.do you think of mike mentzer believe that man's greatest happiness comes from the achievement of his own personal goals?

I think this is a lot like seeking validation — lol! I remember my stepfather loved keeping his cars clean and looking like new. If a car started rattling, he’d have the shop track down the problem and fix it. But years later, I asked him about that, and he said he doesn’t really care that much about the car’s cleanliness anymore. Sure, he liked it clean, but a few water spots here and there didn’t bother him — it was “good enough.” What mattered more was that the car ran well and that he could enjoy driving it without stress.

The point is, our goals, like our need for approval, can change over time. What once felt crucial may eventually feel unimportant or “good enough.” Just like we stop needing others’ validation, the things we once chased for happiness can also fade in significance as we grow.

Dj you probably zoned out and lost interest because of this bit early on describing the king's statue immense leg mass lol

I finally hit a point in life where all I want is a drama free life, peace and quiet and as little human interaction as possible. Scrapped all my social media, quit collecting poker debts, changed my phone number and a bunch of other stuff and just focus on the gym, being mentally and physically the best I can and avoid stress. Its VERY rewarding so far, and when I need a laugh I just come on here and dont take it seriously anymore. Sure wasted a lot of years giving a shit what others said to/about me, what a fuking waste of time that was. Cant regret it though, just have to be better moving forward and stick to it.

anyways, gayer than and all that jazz

Nice Josh, sounds like you have found some genuine serenity

The Real Reason Men Stop Craving Sex

FFS I switched off after just a few minutes of him droning on & on repetitively.
It sure doesn't take 20 minutes of droning on to say why men go off sex.  ::)

Always liked that quote, look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair.
