Unfortunately Jesus isn't here to settle theological disputes. How you put a number of years to 'properly' interpret scripture is curious though. From what I know many Christians wrestle with theological issues their whole lives, including learned theologians, with their heads buried in scripture and minds in prayer. Many seem to believe in a kind of revealed knowledge as well, not a wholly logical or rational analysis. And obviously many adopt the faith of their families, communities and so on. This is just what I see, not any kind of Christian myself 

Regarding communism and other ideologies, some argue that a smart man doesn't marry a certain ideology but looks at what works in that place and time, but I don't know...

I had a very good friend for many years, Father Brian Mullady. He was Dominican Priest (a religious order founded in 1216), he passed away about 6 months ago at the age of 78. He's right up there in the top 3 of the most influential people in my life. Anyway, he was a mentor and confidant, helped me through some trying times when I was at odds with the Catholic Church in regards to my marriage but that's another story. But aside from all of that, he was also one of the most intelligent people I've ever met. He was an academic, worked along side St. Mother Teresa. wrote many books on Catholicism as well as his own show on EWTN (you can still find them on YouTube) we spoke regularly. Long story short, that's how. From someone who's a theologian, an academic and someone who's has studied all aspects of the Catechism, the Bible, how archaeological findings supports the Bible and its history, etc.

Do you feel that someone is not a 'good christian' if that person is driving along obeying the law, and then another driver runs a red light and subsequently dies as a result of that.  In essence, the one driving and obeying the laws did kill someone. 

This is NOT going to turn into a religious debate, but to realize many laws (both religious and governmental) are not perfect.  So many damn loopholes ( thank you attorneys) to all of them.
