Being someone who was in the gym scene back in the late 70s, 80s and early 90s, I recall that there were some guys that the girls fawned over.
A guy like Valente would have been the type. Good looking, popular, etc.
Like the high school star type.
Alpha male.
For your average guys this did not happen then.
The chicks would not give them the time of day.
Since Valente is now 67 those hot chicks will not give him the time of day now.
He is now considered an old man by the hot chicks, especially when he hits on them.
He is no longer the stud guy.
You reach a point where you are not sexually desirable by the young and beautiful.
Valente is probably not hitting on 67 year old women in the gym either.
A lot of people he knew are dead which does not speak well for the "sport" of bodybuilding.
I have not been in a commercial gym in over 30 years and it sounds really messed up with people hogging equipment, etc.
