No, there's a difference between digging up a comedian's off color joke or comment, and celebrating and championing violence, misinformation, and assassinations.

It's been said the worst thing about free speech is, in fact, free speech.  I get that, and believe folks ARE free to say what they want.  But free speech does NOT mean speech without consequence.

If you are a nurse, doctor, teacher, etc and you openly celebrate the killing of political folks you don't like, then it's not a stretch for an employer to say you would treat a patient or student whose views you didn't like differently.

He isn't being cancelled for words. He is being cancelled for LIES. As for the others mocking the assignation of a man, those are not words, those are sick individuals who are so biased that they are not to be trusted or safe to be around. Especially when some of them hold leadership positions in the fire dept, police dept, hospitals, colleges, etc.  Those same people cancelled the right for differing beliefs or things they did in their past when those same actions were acceptable to the time.

I'm tired already of hearing the "free speech' excuses. It's protecting a brand and a business. As much as I hate Disney for their woke agenda, this was Nexstar who made that decision and rightfully so. You don't want employees like Kimmel or in any other business big or small publicly making not just flat out lying accusation but creating even more hate.
