At this point, the only fact that carries any weight is the Jury's verdict. You do realize that the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear his state murder conviction appeal in November 2023.

The federal case Violation of George Floyd's Civil Rights: In December 2021, Derek Chauvin pleaded guilty to the civil rights violations, and he admitted to using excessive force against George Floyd, depriving him of his constitutional rights. Derek Chauvin filed a motion in federal court in November 2023 to overturn this conviction. His appeals argument is that he would never have pleaded guilty if he had known of the alternative theory regarding George Floyd's death.

Even if this appeal overturned his federal conviction, it would not reduce the length of his incarceration since he is severing his state and federal sentences concurrently.

Prime I think you're a smart guy.  Incredibly uninformed and misinformed, but you're no dummy.  What I suspect is that you are using Chat GPT or some other AI to help you with your posts on the board.  Not a crime and it doesn't bother me, but I think that explains why you are completely dismissing damning evidence that undercuts your conclusion, and why you rarely cite your sources.  It feels like I'm communicating with a bot.  This isn't meant to be rude.  Just making an observation.

The judge was a former prosecutor who previously worked in the same office that prosecuted Chauvin.  The judge was likely doing what the jury did:  reach a decision that would not result in more rioting, murder, mayhem, death threats, etc.  It's results oriented decision making, where someone reaches the conclusion first then accepts or dismisses evidence to support that conclusion.

From what I see & read The trial was a cop out a fix , Blame whitey yet again.
The black lowlife thug killed himself & yet they blamed Derek.
No his behavior & attitude during the event that led to Thuglife's death didn't
Look good or help him.

They played the race card before trial, but not during the trial.

I understand the initial outcry, because like I told Prime, when I first saw the video it looked like Floyd was suffocated to death, while handcuffed on the ground.  Even though Floyd was a terrible person, he didn't deserve to die that way.

But when I looked at all of the evidence it became clear that Chauvin did NOT kill Floyd.  Total miscarriage of justice IMO.  And he's not getting out.  Even if Trump pardons or commutes his federal sentence, there is no way that Stolen Valor Tampon Tim or any other Democrat governor is going to pardon or commute the state prison sentence.

Leftist don't want to see the truth that they have bullied the legal system with threats of violence and in turn that sways the decisions in high profile cases to force judges/juries to side with the fit throwers and not necessarily justice.

Feel free to call me Mr. Bot if you like. ;D Being a bot would certainly save me a considerable amount of time I spend researching information prior to responding to posts on Getbig.

I could cite sources all day long but you and others who primarily just echo whatever the right and far right is saying would simply discount my posts because in your opinion they reflected a liberal viewpoint. No big deal, people are biased which is what makes each of us unique and makes for interesting conversations. Absolute and too frequent agreement is far less interesting. Imagine Get Big threads where there are no challenging discussions, just blind unanimity.

BTW, I have never heard about ChatGTP before now. I will check it out because if you thought I was already using it as a resource, it likely aligns my thinking.

I find AI much more detailed and informative than Google is. AI also points to valid resources like language in the U.S. Constitution and legal documents supporting their responses to questions asked. Google is sometimes supported with opinions. I do not put a lot of stock in opinions being factual because they are often incredibly biased, as you well know.
Thanks for the compliment but I am not particularly bright, simply curious about many different subjects.

The judge sounds as if he was corrupt - why on earth would he not allow the
Police training evidence. 🤬

Judge Peter Cahill did not disallow testimony regarding Chauvin's training regarding knee-to-neck restraint. Quite the contrary. The prosecution employed the testimony of five police officials, Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo, Lt. Johnny Mercil, Sgt. Ker Yang, Lt. Zimmerman, Officer Nicole Mackenzie, and Dr. Martin Tobin, they testified that Chauvin's restraint of George Floyd was not part of police training and violated department policies.

During Derek Chauvin's trail, Minneapolis Police Lieutenant Johnny Mercil testified that “leg-neck restraints" like the one Chauvin used are not trained techniques in the Minneapolis Police Department. Mercil also testified that a knee on the neck would not be authorized once a suspect is under control and handcuffed, a condition he said applied to George Floyd.

Your projection is a massive fail.  I have no problem reading sources provided by people. Been doing it for the entire time I've been posting on this board.  You, however, do not.  You first check the author and source, and if it's conservative you either don't read it or don't address the merits of what they say.

ChapGPT is AI, so if you "find AI much more detailed and informative than Google," then you are obviously using some form of AI.  Which is exactly what I said.   :)

The judge disallowed this power point slide from the officers' training:

Look familiar?

And the officers lied about whether the MRT was an approved technique.  I doubt you watch it, but for anyone else interested, the Fall of Minneapolis has interviews with multiple officers who confirmed MRT was an approved technique and that the officers who testified were lying.

Oh look, Prime is right !! :o

PORTLAND, OR — What began as a tense standoff outside Portland’s ICE building took an unexpected turn Saturday when Antifa activists and federal troops dropped their shields, rolled out a pair of Weber grills, and transformed the protest zone into a full-blown block party.

Witnesses say the mood shifted when a soldier in full riot gear asked if anyone had extra propane. Within minutes, both sides were contributing—Antifa supplied veggie dogs and kombucha mixers, while the troops brought a 200-pound surplus of MRE chili mac and a Humvee sound system.

The event, quickly dubbed “Ceasefire & Grill 2025,” featured live music by underground DJ Molotov, who kept the crowd moving with a set that mixed Rage Against the Machine with Toby Keith.

“This is what democracy looks like,” shouted one black-clad protester while dancing on a police barricade now repurposed as a stage. “Sure, they pepper-sprayed us earlier, but their brisket recipe slaps.”

Not everyone was convinced. Some Portlanders grumbled that the sudden peace festival lacked proper permits, while others complained the event “felt more like Coachella for people who hate each other.”

Still, morale was high as troops and activists joined together for sack races, face-painting, and a three-legged march formation drill.

When asked if the détente would last, one soldier responded, “Hard to say. But as long as the keg holds out, we’re committed to de-escalation.”

At press time, both sides had united in booing the DJ after he announced his encore: Nickelback’s Photograph.

If only this were true.

Today, I read a post on the social media newsfeed 'Nextdoor' suggesting various chores the National Guard could do that would most benefit Portland. Some of the suggestions included were repairing potholes in the streets, assisting with leaf cleanup, cleaning out abandoned homeless camps, removing graffiti, not all of which pertains to current politics.

If you're going to use AI, you should at least read what you're posting.  Right here:

I could cite sources all day long but you and others who primarily just echo whatever the right and far right is saying would simply discount my posts because in your opinion they reflected a liberal viewpoint.

Also, the first real clue that you were using AI was when you cited the percentage of college graduates in the U.S., using a very precise number, which was ridiculously wrong, and then you could not remember where you got the number from.  That was likely a hallucinated number by AI.  Sometimes AI literally makes stuff up (called hallucination).  So be careful when using it.

And no I don't need any points for recognizing your AI.  I guess it's better than your plagiarism?   ;D

Did AI tell you about the residents that are harassed, intimidated, assaulted and abused in their own neighborhood? Would you enjoy driving into your lily white gated community every day to be greeted by people screaming at you? Pounding on your car, trying to get in? Playing loud music, bullhorns and other noises all night? Maybe you think it's ok to jump people and beat them up when they just want some peace and quiet in their home?
