when people decide to stop drugs they go one of two ways
They either get fat as fuck to try and convince people they are still big
They decide that they need to downsize as quickly as possible by taking up running or hiking and try and convince themselves and everyone else that they are not shinking because they stopped the gear

I lost 60lbs of ripped mass really quick when I gave it all up. Didn't take up running or hiking to cope, I just accepted having gone from a superhero to an aids patient physique overnight. That's the reality. I also didn't bother to narrate the process with excuses about my balls and "semen retention", lack of heavy lifting or "force feeding", nor about the "benefits" such as improved athleticism in "manly" activity such as "boxing", implying I am somehow still somehow "winning". It's better to face defeat with dignity and look it straight in the eye.

What the fuck are you on about? Accept defeat? A thread was made about the subject, not that I am an Olympian and I just wished to share my story, if success and defeat are only equated with one's muscle mass ratio then you really are a shallow person. Sorry to hear about you're aids patient physique and asshole personality.

Been ill for a few weeks, just stopped TRT and some BP meds I was taking, not been to the gym more than 3 times in last two months.

It just doesnt interest me any more, I feel OK looking like a normal person

Don't you miss it, though?  The feel of the weight in your hands, the way the rubber-coated weights smell and sound, the sensation of getting a strong biceps or shoulder pump?  Even the sci-fi-inspired look of those weird nautilus machines?

There are some guys who are genetically cursed and really can't gain muscle (even on the juice, lol,) but I still see them in the gym all the time, and I think I understand: It's just fun.  It doesn't need to be something that seems "rewarding" to outside observers.

I think I'm gonna keep doing it for life, purely for personal enjoyment, even when I get too old to "look good," objectively speaking.

Right, this is how I feel. I think there is value in doing some mild exercise though so you dont get all flabby. I definitely don't "enjoy" it though.

I have never enjoyed training, I did it because I looked good when doing it.
I started weights to help with rugby and saw how my body responded pretty quickly so went with it.

Looking back I enjoyed rugby way more than weights and maybe should have stuck with it, I was a pretty good centre/winger.
Maybe I could have been a decent sprinter as well, I was always the fastest at the rugby teams I played for or against.

As i have gotten older I wanted to be in shape and defy age.

Every year your body goes worse especially past 60, these guys still competing telling themselves they are making improvements and still thinking they look as good as they did when they were 30 are deluded..
I was one of them, when I got stage ready in 2013 I thought I looked as good as my last show in 96, boy did the photos wake me up.

2023 was a far cry from 2022

I dont think dieting for 15 months helped but father time had the most impact

Nerve damage resulted in me losing a third of my calf size

Last show I was a shadow of my former self, I dont know why I did it to be honest, I didnt even tan up as I normally do, I couldnt be fucking arsed.

Every chemical physique deflates. They gain a lot more than naturals, so they lose a lot more. But does the slim down of 30 or more lbs happen after weeks, months of years: how long does the gear keep working after you stopped taking pills or injections?

you can lose tone and hardness after about two weeks if not less

I dont tend to lose a lot of weight more a change of body composition

I will stay at around 198lb and that was my normal contest weight but I look nothing like my contest condition and size

I dont lose that much weight because I have never abused the drugs, hardly any GH , never used insulin, normal contest stack hardly ever over a gram in total
Off season 500mgs test tops

If rugby is like American Football with the CTE and joint issues, then it's probably better you didn't.

I think that these are from 1976.  All of his muscles disappeared super quickly!

He had a great frame - Arnuld was literally made for ze doping.

CTE is absolutely bullshit junk science. Millions of American kids have been playing football for at least 50 years, if it was as prevalent as claimed there be millions of zombies and deaths. It’s like professional heavyweight boxers. Very very few ever make it to the level where this is really a worry. Meanwhile they use these phony studies to pussify and womanize society.

Even naturals lose muscle mass fast, if I don’t train for a month I lose muscle fast. It does however come back rather quickly but it’s getting more and more annoying to me what it takes to preserve the strength and mass I had just a decade ago. At this point I think I’d be happier just trying to stay fit.
