why not wear a fucking belt for 1rm attempts ?
Well I won't speak for Brian but it is very true that for me, reliance on a belt will lead to diminished capacity without the belt, which then makes squatting kind of this weird situation where I sort of limp up to my arbitrary "belt weight" and then feel like a new man, once the belt comes on. For me, it's better to avoid using the belt unless absolutely necessary because the moment I put the belt on, the situation is completely different and then I need to have this weird system of tracking progression that takes into account that I'm basically putting something on that gives me extra capacity.
Plus that isn't his 1RM if he puts a belt on.
He is doing well, I salute his endeavour. He listened to the complaints and made adjustments on the depth.
