I’ll probably start hitting the driving range once a week now that the weather is good. Had some great shots, hit four drives perfect, outdrove everyone 280-300 yards. Then, I’d follow up a beautiful drive with whacking it into a sand trap and taking two shots to get out. Not angry, like I said, it’s fun to do, but my back gets taxed playing more than nine holes.
Golf and bowling both play havoc on the back.
Many pros have serious back problems.
Pros make bad shots too but they have the short game to make those pars and avoid double and triple bogeys.
Keys to good golf is the fundamentals:
Solid consistent grip!!!!
Proper alignment!!!!
At the range hit balls with all clubs, not just driver. Don't just hit drivers.
Buy a bucket of balls, a large bucket. Divide the balls up and hit 5-8 balls with each club, starting with hitting half wedges, then full wedge, 9,8,7,6,5, etc ending with the driver.
Work on the short game a lot!!!
Spend some money on lessons.
If you can spend $1,000 playing one round then spend a few hundred on lessons.
The pros take lessons all the time.
However, like I said, if being awful is ok, then don't bother. It's ok too, seriously.
I was a 2 handicap 30+years ago.
