Can you explain how people on a carnivore diet eating once a day manage to get all their protein needs?
Surely you dont believe the bullshit about only absorbing 35-30 grams at a sitting?
That was a Weider scam to sell fart powder.
Serge Nubret only ate once per day (3-4lb of horse meat)
No I thought I was clear on that argument. It wasn't even about digestion but efficient utilization and how much was needed in one dosing to maximally stimulate protein synthesis, and by meeting the 'leucine' threshold; but it's more involved than that. Even whey protein is digested at only like  grams per hours. When 100 grams of whey is consumed anabolism is stimulated for about 12 hours, and not through synthesis alone but lessened breakdown. Casein is slower and then out sone olive oil to slow digestion is slowed further, potentially. Knowing what we know now it's easy to see how several pounds of horsemeat can sustain you for a long time. I do think at least 3 meals is preferable for some reasons. perhaps with essential amino acid pulses in between. dj had AI tell him he needed to meet his 2 or 3 gram leucine threshold 4 times a day but it won't work well if overall protein is low even by RDI standards, besides 5 grams of leucine has been shown to be better.
So I completely agree you on this aspect.
I'm not sure I believe the 4lb horse meat thing because everything is always exaggerated but your points still stand.
Another thing about the needed surpluses for growth, like Mentzer said you needed a bite of an apple over your BMR to grow. It's not a perfect conversion of the body only needing this little amount to grow this much. I do think his diet was probably suboptimal, especially in prep where protein needs go up.
