About half of those calories come from juice. The way he eats is disgusting.

Irrelevant, you still have to digest it which can take up to 36 hours from putting it in your mouth

A 340 lbs of muscle monster obviously burns through calories at a much higher pace than the avg person. You can not compare.

Sumo wrestlers eat around 10k cals, and they train way harder than him and they get way fatter than him.

14k cals isnt possible on a consistent basis.

You dont understand lean body mass in relation to calorie consumption i see....

Fat doesnt burn calories. Its just energy storage. Sumos dont have near the lean mass of guys like Smaev.

Lean mass of the sumos are maybe 210-230. As such their demand for calories is not nearly as much.

I do understand and he isnt eating all that food, it takes 36-48 hours for food to clear your digestive system from mouth to ass.

After 2 days his intestines and bowels would be stuffed

It also takes around 4 hours for your stomach to fully clear after a meal

You have to multiple flush.

Flush after every poop or partial poop drops.

Of course your water bill will go up.

You can talk about not needing whatever amount of calories and protein he consumes, but the way I see it if he's maintaining his weight on a certain amount of food he's eating then it's the "right amount." I'd bet his protein is at least 500 grams a day but could also be upwards of a fucking kilo. Sure you can argue he could replace 10 or 20% of that with fat and carbs and you might be right but invariably the really huge bodybuilders eat maybe about 400 grams at least. Justin "Troponin" Harris, a top coach says look how little you gain with 'lots of protein' and then look at his diets it's invariably going to be like 300 grams for the big guys, same exact thing applies to George Farah who also advocates lower protein, whatever that means to him. To me it appears that "science" says there's an almost unlimited capacity for the body to absorb and utilize food. All these 600+lbs fatties didn't get that way by shitting out undigested food. Surely he exaggerates with 14K, at least daily, but it's still going to be a lot. It can't be too much unless you think he's too fat. Dorian Yates advocated 1.5 grams of protein per pound per day and for him at his biggest in the off-season it was 450 grams a day. Dorian isn't all knowing but just saying... he says you can't eat all your protein in one or two meals because you can't absorb it. He was wrong here, science has shown there's no practical upper limit on how much you can absorb. He was thinking of the research on the amount of protein needed for max protein synthesis. But large amounts of food don't absorb all at once. I've posted one paper saying there's no upper limit although they only tested to 70 grams, a typical amount for an American dinner they claimed LOL. It was better for protein synthesis and extended anabolism than lower amounts.

Here's one testing up to 100 grams in a single sitting.

Can you explain how people on a carnivore diet eating once a day manage to get all their protein needs?

Surely you dont believe the bullshit about only absorbing 35-30 grams at a sitting?

That was a Weider scam to sell fart powder.

Serge Nubret only ate once per day (3-4lb of horse meat)

and remember , you cant increase the number of muscle fibres in your body no matter how much protein you eat

No I thought I was clear on that argument. It wasn't even about digestion but efficient utilization and how much was needed in one dosing to maximally stimulate protein synthesis, and by meeting the 'leucine' threshold; but it's more involved than that. Even whey protein is digested at only like  grams per hours. When 100 grams of whey is consumed anabolism is stimulated for about 12 hours, and not through synthesis alone but lessened breakdown. Casein is slower and then out sone olive oil to slow digestion is slowed further, potentially. Knowing what we know now it's easy to see how several pounds of horsemeat can sustain you for a long time. I do think at least 3 meals is preferable for some reasons. perhaps with essential amino acid pulses in between. dj had AI tell him he needed to meet his 2 or 3 gram leucine threshold 4 times a day but it won't work well if overall protein is low even by RDI standards, besides 5 grams of leucine has been shown to be better.

So I completely agree you on this aspect.

I'm not sure I believe the 4lb horse meat thing because everything is always exaggerated but your points still stand.

Another thing about the needed surpluses for growth, like Mentzer said you needed a bite of an apple over your BMR to grow. It's not a perfect conversion of the body only needing this little amount to grow this much. I do think his diet was probably suboptimal, especially in prep where protein needs go up.

He recently shared his macros. If I remember correctly, they were over 500 grams of protein, 600 grams of fat, and over 1,500 grams of carbohydrates. A large portion of those calories come from unhealthy eating. For example, he eats 1 kg (over 2 lbs) of cheesecake every day.
