Most are too comfortable to lift a finger.
Many people in Western society are still happy that they got an average(in reality bad) place in the hierarchy and that foreign aliens are doing the jobs they do not want to do. As soon as you got something to loose you're a total sucker and will hold onto any perceived wealth(no matter how pathetic)... and the (melting) middle class' desperation is steadily growing.
As for taking back... there's the militia option but it would be way more clever to infiltrate the government and take back America in a more underhanded sort of way. It's not as easy as it used to because there's many foreign players now that have gained traction and still want to get something out of the US(before it falters). The big error the Anglo Saxon powers made, in the fight for America(as a nucleus of European excellence), was passivity and the expectation of an open conflict(with foreign powers). They were too lazy and high headed for realizing that the mundane events, that only plagued the common men back then, would eventually come back twofold and bite them in the ass too.
