AI won't cause permanent mass unemployment. People will naturally shift to new industries as old ones become obsolete. Just like what happened with horse and buggy makers, telephone switchboard operators, and telegraph workers.

The only things that could prevent this natural shift are external forces that encourage complacency and laziness. Things like excessive government handouts or mandated living wages.
