Powerlifting gym the size of a living room, since 2007 I think. A couple of platforms and lots of Eleiko bars and plates, plus a few home made machines from the 80s :D

Best gym I ever trained in/at was Lee Haney's World Class Fitness Center and Animal Kingdom when I was in Atlanta.  It was in the basement of City Hall on Ponce.  That gym had any kind of equipment you could imagine and many pieces that you couldn't.  It closed two years before I finished university.  And I spent the next two years going to :
Main Event Fitness in Marietta (the second one that Sting and Luger opened with a lot of old WCW talent there - WCW had closed at this point).

Ropeman's - Ty Felder - who purchased the original Main Event Fitness on Buford Highway.

Coffee's Gym in Marietta on the occasional weekend.

I dated a girl that lived in Alpharetta for a bit and we would go to World Gym and Powerhouse out by her sometimes.  (Where the old B list WCW wrestlers hung out after getting fired before it closed.  It was like the unofficial unemployment office for cast off wrestlers - Robbie Rage - he was a trainer there and a bad dopehead, Glacier, David Flair, Armstrongs, etc.)

Went with friends sometimes to Run and Shoot in Atlanta.  And yes, it was exactly what you think it is just from reading the name and location.  Atlanta.  Run.  Shoot.   It was a ghetto location that had about a dozen indoor basketball courts and a weight room.  I never saw another cracka in there besides me.

Moved to Florida and joined World Gym / Titan for a few years.  Ownership changed and everyone left.

Went to Golds Gym on Commercial for a few years and then they changed out all their Hammer Strength and Flex machines for the Hoist crap.  Everyone left.  It was a ghost town.

Went to LA Fitness and this is the longest I have been with any gym.

It's been home gym for me for about a decade.

Best overall gym I was at was Equinox.  It always added the latest shit, unlimited Kiehl's products in the locker room, super clean.

Best BB gym was Everett's Golds - pros sometimes would be there, everyone lifted big, etc.

What a travesty! The owner or manager should’ve been shot for that. It’s the worst when the decision maker is somebody that doesn’t even fucking lift!

That was his first mistake.  He ran his current members off with the awful equipment.  It was very strange because about 6-7 months prior he had just gotten about 15-20 new HS machines in.  Out they went with that awful Hoist replacing everything.

The second mistake was since he had no members hardly, when that queer gym in Wilton Manors closed shop and the owner ran off with the funds, right before doing so the guy from Gold's bought all the existing contracts that were being auto drafted each month.  Thinking that those members would drive across town and use his business each month.  Instead, they all tried to cancel their memberships and he fought them and wouldn't reimburse them for the months they were charged.  It went to court and he was forced to pay them back.  That sunk him.  It became a ZOO gym then.   Now it is currently APEX when from what I hear is decent.

I remember when it was Gold’s when I was a kid. I wish I saw it when I was in high school but made the mistake with signing up at Ballys (oh brother). Later made it up by joining World Gym later on in high school.

Remember the other World Gym in Pompano off Federal and north of Atlantic?. Can’t remember the guy’s name. Something like Jim Wooland’s World Gym. John DeFendis was training people over there supposedly.

Upon further research, it’s a Youfit now.
